Should the city convert selected road lanes into protected walking and cycling routes?

I would support a pilot in the busiest corridors, with published measurements for safety, travel time, and business access.
My main reason is that a public vote works better when the proposal is testable. If the pilot creates serious access problems, the city should be able to revise it before a permanent vote.
I would want the ballot page to link to the budget, traffic study, and comments from people who use the affected streets every day.
