A lens, not
the whole story.

The input stays the same. What you bring to it can change the reading. Explore a few possibilities without choosing a final answer.

The fixed message says “We need to talk.” Conflict, planning, concern, and uncertainty are possible readings. Their bars indicate illustrative visual emphasis, not probabilities.

Visual emphasis, not probabilities

A reading can feel obvious
without being the only one.

The colored labels and bars show visual emphasis in this illustration, not the chance that an interpretation is true. “Uncertainty” means leaving the question open. Use View original to separate the input from the lens.

The psychedelic connection & how this illustration works

A hypothesis, not a universal mechanism. REBUS proposes that psychedelics may reduce the precision, or weighting, of some high-level expectations, allowing other information more influence. This is a proposed explanatory framework—not a guarantee of accuracy, insight, benefit, or a particular experience.

Carhart-Harris & Friston (2019), REBUS and the Anarchic Brain · PubMed

A hand-authored metaphor. The sliders weight invented expectation and cue scores. The results are normalized only to allocate color and visual emphasis; they are not fitted to data. Uncertainty is a stance, not a fourth kind of sender intention. The image's “focus cues” direct attention rather than adding new pixels.

The source texture never changes when the controls move. Refraction, color, and labels are separate presentation layers. The glass is not a simulation of a brain or a psychedelic experience. Lower expectation does not automatically mean a better reading.
